DRAMA CRUISE (the third Nicky and Noah mystery)
by Joe Cosentino, performed by Brad Enright

Are you a Nicky and Noah fan? If so, you’ve enjoyed lots of laughs, sweet romance, and mind-teasing mysteries. How were the Nicky and Noah mysteries conceived? As a college theatre professor/department head, I realized a college theatre department is rife with humor, romance, mystery, and lots of drama! Since I have a passion for cozy mysteries full of humor, the settings are cozy, the clues and murders (and laughs) come fast and furious, and there are enough plot twists and turns and a surprise ending to keep the pages turning quickly. And who doesn’t love romance? So at the center of each novel is a touching gay romance between Play Directing professor Nicky Abbondanza and Acting professor Noah Oliver.
In the first novel, Drama Queen (Divine Magazine’s Favorite Mystery of the Year), college theatre professors are dropping like stage curtains and Nicky and Noah use their theatre skills, including impersonating other people, to figure out whodunit. Next is Drama Muscle (Rainbow Award Honorable Mention), where Nicky and Noah don their gay Holmes and Watson personas again to find out why bodybuilding students and professors in the bodybuilding show on campus are dropping faster than barbells. In Drama Cruise it is summer on a ten-day cruise from San Francisco to Alaska and back. Nicky and Noah must figure out why college theatre professors are dropping like life rafts as Nicky directs a murder mystery dinner theatre show onboard ship starring Noah and other college theatre professors from across the US. Complicating matters are Nicky and Noah’s both sets of wacky parents and Nicky and Noah’s department head and his husband who are along for the ride.
The first-person narrative, humor, and theatrical style of the novels make them perfect as audiobooks. Michael Gilboe did a fine job with Drama Queen, and Chip Hurley was also terrific in Drama Muscle.
Luck was still with me when I found Brad Enright to perform Drama Cruise. Brad has a masculine, sexy voice that is full of emotion. His sense of humor matches with Nicky’s perfectly. Finally, Brad’s over twenty character voices, both male and female, will leave you in awe, as you wonder how one person can play all those roles. After Brad and I discussed the characters, humor, and emotions in the novel, he went to work on his state of the art audio equipment to create the audiobook. He was always open to my feedback and appreciated my comments and advice along the way. Upon hearing the audiobook, I laughed out loud numerous times, and the ending surprised me—and I wrote the book!
So, if you need a good laugh (and who doesn’t?), some sweet gay romance, and a brain-twisting mystery (to keep the little gray cells sharp), listen to this audiobook and have a ball! And do it now. The audiobook for DRAMA LUAU, the fourth Nicky and Noah mystery, is in the works, followed by the e-book/paperback release of DRAMA DETECTIVE, the fifth Nicky and Noah mystery! Listen and enjoy! And let me know what you think at http://www.JoeCosentino.weebly.com!

Thank you for joining me today, Joe! It was great to have you here!

It is my joy and pleasure to share these stories with you. So take your front row seat. The boat is leaving from port. Lights up and ahoy matey! Alaska here we come!

Praise for DRAMA CRUISE (the third Nicky and Noah mystery):

“Superb fun from start to finish, for me this series gets stronger with every book and that’s saying something because the benchmark was set so very high with book 1.” Three Books Over the Rainbow

“I have been an avid reader of Joe Cosentino’s books for some time and he has yet to let me down. His ability to write highly original, yet somehow realistic, characters is one of his greatest strengths as a writer. Their quirks and personalities fill the pages in a way that makes for a fabulously entertaining and totally engrossing read. I loved this book and highly recommend it to lovers of farce, humour, murder mystery and sweet MM love stories.” Divine Magazine

“Joe Cosentino does it again with Drama Cruise, the third Nicky and Noah mystery. I loved the humor, drama, and theater work inside. Plus, the romance and murder investigation keep readers turning the pages. Absolutely, must read this latest book in the series.” Urban Book Reviews

“If you are looking for a good, funny book to shake the blahs, love mystery, humor and romance, and a story with a twist or two, you’re bound to love this.” Cathy Brockman Romances

“The characters are charming and entertaining….had me in stitches….This is the delightful third episode in the Nicky and Noah Mystery series. It is a fun-filled and entertaining murder mystery for LGBT cozy mystery fans.” Readers’ Favorite

“Each (Nicky and Noah mystery) is a wonderful mixture of sex, comedy, romance and murder, but when Cosentino took it to an Alaska cruise and the high seas, well, it tossed it up into theatrically delicious magic….I loved this story. I love this couple. What on earth is going to happen to them next? I can’t wait to find out.” Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words

“The Nicky and Noah Mysteries series are perfect for fans of the Cozy Mystery sub-genre. They mix tongue-in-cheek humor, over-the-top characters, a wee bit of political commentary, and suspense into a sweet little mystery solved by Nicky and Noah, theatre professors for whom all the world’s a stage.” Prism Book Alliance
“As this highly entertaining story rolls on, I find myself laughing and getting into the who- done-it craze. This is a great book, it made me feel happy just reading it. The main characters are almost perfect, which just makes things better.” Crystal’s Many Reviewers

“fast-paced, action-packed story….fabulous cast of characters….if you love a murder mystery then this book is for you.” Books Laid Bare Boys

“The humor is laugh-out-loud, he didn’t just say that, funny. The scenes of affection occur mostly off-stage, behind closed doors, yet remain joyfully suggestive and highly sensual. Every character gets his due and the ending will have you sniffling with happiness.” Diane Nelson, Sand in My Shoes Reviews

Noah and I left the lounge and took the all-glass elevator down to the main level, marveling at the enormous circular marble stairway opposite us.
Noah took my hand and squeezed it. “I’m so glad we’re doing this, Nicky.”

“Whatever floats your boat,” I replied kissing his cheek.

Kissing my sideburn, Noah replied, “You float my boat.”

I grabbed his bottom as we came out of the elevator. “I wonder what happened to Jeff. We need the star’s confidant character.”

“He probably hasn’t gotten his sea legs yet,” Noah replied with compassion as usual. “We can check on him later.”

We looked at the various stores, restaurants, and four-piece wind orchestra serenading us.

“What do you want to do now?” Noah asked.

“You know what I want to do.” I put my arm around Noah’s welcoming shoulders. “However, I told Martin we would meet him and Ruben at the pool.”

Noah sighed in ecstasy. “Ah, whiling away the afternoon at the pool. I could get used to this, Nicky.”

We walked up the grand staircase, which rivaled the set from Gone with he Wind. In our cabin, we changed into bathing suits—form-fitting for Noah and baggy for me. After a quick elevator ride down, Noah and I sat poolside.

We marveled at the azure sky morphing into the aqua ocean rolling away to the turquoise pool, all reflected in Noah’s gorgeous eyes.

Noah held my hand. “I feel like I’m in heaven, Nicky.”

“Wherever you are is heaven for me.” I kissed his hand.

“Can we stay here forever?” Noah asked as he settled deeper into his overstuffed chaise.

I sipped my lemonade. “Enjoy it now. Treemeadow College owns us come September.”

“And don’t you forget it.” Martin Anderson served us a late afternoon snack of triple decker grilled veggie sandwiches with sweet potato fries and spinach salad from the outdoor buffet. Short, thin, and pushing seventy, my mentor, department head, and best friend sat on the chaise lounge next to me and motioned for his husband to join him on the next chaise. Ruben Markinson, the CEO of a large gay rights organization and Martin’s taller half, followed his husband’s prompting.

“Don’t you two look spiffy?” I said like a teenage son with his parents on the beach.

“What a change to be out in the sun. It’s glorious!” said Martin.

“Amen,” added Ruben.

Martin said, “Though we had to spend a half hour putting on sunscreen.”

Noah and I grinned at Martin and Ruben’s matching attire: enormous beach hats, floor-length white terry cloth robes, and fluffy slippers.

“Is your cabin all right?” asked Noah, always concerned about others.

“How was lunch in the dining room?” I asked, pulling out Noah’s nuts (the nuts on his salad—since he’s allergic).

Martin waved our questions away like mosquitoes at a picnic. “Everything is fine.” His brown eyes doubled in size as he unleashed them behind his giant sunglasses. “Tell me about the rehearsal.” As producer, Martin was in charge of approving our contracts with the cruise line and securing our costumes and props for the dinner theatre production. However, as always, Martin’s main interest was gossip.

I answered, “Noah is terrific as Cheyenne’s young paramour. Cheyenne is the perfect temptress of mystery.”

Martin put his small hand over my mouth. “I’m sure everyone is wonderful.”

He slid to the edge of his chaise. “I want the dirt. How are the cast members getting along…or not getting along?"

When I hesitated, Ruben said, “You’d better tell him, Nicky. If you don’t, this trip will be hell for me. Besides, you know he’ll get it out of you sooner or later anyway. So let’s make it sooner and enjoy the beautiful day.” He winked at Martin.

About Drama Cruise

Theater professors and couple, Nicky Abbondanza and Noah Oliver, are going overboard as usual, but this time on an Alaskan cruise, where dead college theatre professors are popping up everywhere from the swimming pool to the captain’s table. Further complicating matters are Nicky’s and Noah’s parents as surprise cruise passengers, and Nicky’s assignment to direct a murder mystery dinner theater show onboard ship. Nicky and Noah will need to use their drama skills to figure out who is bringing the curtain down on vacationing theatre professors before it is lights out for the handsome couple. You will be applauding and shouting Bravo for Joe Cosentino’s fast-paced, side-splittingly funny, edge-of-your-seat entertaining third novel in this delightful series. Curtain up and ship ahoy!

Meet Rio from Jackie Keswick's "The Power of Zero"!

Join me in welcoming Jackie Keswick to my blog with her newest novella, The Power of Zero, a Prequel to the Power of Zero Series! Check out this awesome interview of Rio!

Available at Amazon!

Like Gettin' to Know a Feral Cat

Hi, I'm Rio. I don' do interviews. People like me don', y'know?

Bu' jus' to be neighbourly an' all, I'll talk to you about Jack. 'Cos he's somethin' else.

Bu' tha' first question on your list right here? Why did you offer a kid squatting in your basement a home? Tha's the kind of question tha' tells you who your friends are. Nobody who knows me - an' is in their right mind - would even think of askin' me tha'. They all know how I'm built.

And Jack wasn' jus' any kid.

Breakin' into my house took serious guts. An' he didn' break in to steal stuff, either. He needed a safe place an' who am I to deny him tha', eh? Everyone needs a safe place, however fortunate we are. Don' you like to hide in bed sometime, whether it's with heartache, a cold, or a favourite book? Imagine you didn' have tha'. Wha' would you do?

Tha's another thing about Jack tha' chokes me up. He chose life on the street over life with the pimp his mother sold him to. No' many people have tha' kind of courage. An' he still had enough heart left to try an' help others.

No' tha' I knew tha' at the beginnin'. Gettin' to know Jack was like gettin' to know a feral cat. You have to do tha' slowly an' carefully or you'll get scratched an' bitten. I did. Figuratively speakin', of course. I got too close too quickly one day, only tryin' to help, mind. Bu' it scared Jack an' he ran. Worst few weeks of my life. I knew he was out there, all alone an' hurtin', an' I busted a gut to find him again. An' yeah, I was almost too late an' tha' scared the socks off me, I can tell you.

Bu' we got over it. An' Jack... well, he never bothered with school. Never trusted anyone enough for tha'. Bu' he's smart. He studied at home, an' then he started to help me. Gettin' him involved with my kinda crap wasn' perhaps wha' anyone else woulda thought good for him. Bu' I knew. Jack was good at sneakin' around, an' he wanted to help, so I let him.

An' look where he's now. He an' tha' chap he's with, Gareth, they rescued two kids a few months back. So the boy who started out with a mother who didn' deserve tha' name an' nobody to look out for him, now has a family an' two kids of his own. All because he had the courage to accept a bit of help.

Right. Wha' else did you wan' to know?

Jack's favourite colour?

Green, I think. The greener the better. Actually, scratch tha'. He does like really dark greens, bu' I think he has a thing for tha' silver green leather Hotshot makes shoes and jackets from. I'd swear I've seen him in one just the other day. It's the same colour as his eyes, and it looks badass.

Next. Jack's favourite food?

Once upon a time, tha' would have been green apples and pizza and hot chocolate. No' all at the same time, of course. Then he discovered coffee - round abou' the time all the coffee shops started up - an' tha' was tha'.

An' you know wha'? I'm no' gonna get into a music discussion with you all. I'm no' tha' patient. Wha' I will say is tha' when I met Jack he'd been told over an' over tha' he was nothin'. Nobody of consequence. A zero. An' when I told him tha' it's good to be a zero, he looked at me as if I was mad. I meant wha' I told him, though. Zeroes have power. They can change things. An' now tha' Jack's learned tha'... well, you don' wanna mess with him or anyone he cares abou'. Just sayin'. ;-)

ABOUT THE POWER OF ZERO

When a homeless boy meets an ace hacker…

Twelve-year-old Jack Horwood has run from the pimp his mother sold him to, preferring to take his chances on the streets. A house with a cheerful red door – and a classic convertible out front – prompts him into a spot of breaking and entering, and soon he has a warm, dry basement to squat in.

Until the owner of the house, Jamaican hacker Rio Palmer, discovers his hideout. Rio offers him a safe place to stay, but Jack doesn’t believe a word the man says and runs.

Rio can’t forget the youngster who is scared and vulnerable, and stronger than many men Rio has met. Finding Jack is a tiny challenge. Teaching him to trust is like climbing a mountain. But when faced with a true zero and its power, Rio can do nothing else.

ABOUT THE POWER OF ZERO SERIES

Jack Horwood has not had a home since his mother sold him to a pimp, has not had a family since he walked out on his Army career. Now he spends his days chasing secrets for MI6 and his nights chasing pimps and men who buy children for sex, seemingly content until Gareth Flynn, his former

Army CO and the man he fell for when he was seventeen, walks back into his life.
Suddenly endings turn into new beginnings, two scared, abused boys need his help, and his past won’t let him go even as he tries to make a new life for himself.

Available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook from
Dreamspinner Press and all general retailers.

BOOK 1: JOB HUNT

You don’t greet your new boss dressed like an underage rent boy. But when Jack Horwood—ace hacker and ex-MI6 operative—opens the door to Gareth Flynn, he’s too busy to worry over details like that. And anyway, his potential new boss is his former Commanding Officer – the same guy Jack has had a crush on since he was seventeen. So he should understand, right?

When he applied for a job in Nancarrow Mining’s corporate security division, Jack had hoped for peaceful days repelling cyber attacks. Maybe a bit of corporate espionage on the side. His plans didn’t include rescuing abused children, hunting pimps, or dealing with his overly protective and hot-as-hell boss, Gareth Flynn

Walking away is not an option. Jack never takes the easy way out. More than that, meeting Gareth raises old ghosts that Jack needs to put to rest. Rescuing kids. Taking risks. Saving the day. Jack can do all that – but deciding what to do about his attraction to Gareth isn’t the sort of cloak-and-dagger game Jack plays well. Yet Gareth, strong and smart and always on hand when needed, might be Jack’s salvation.

Available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook from
Dreamspinner Press and all general retailers.

BOOK 2: GHOSTS

Jack Horwood doesn’t do families. Or Christmas. From the time his mother sold him to her pimp to the moment he walked out on the man he loved, Christmas has always been about change and painful choices. This year seems no different. Helping Daniel and Nico recover from their imprisonment and hunting down those responsible puts Jack in a frame of mind he doesn’t want to inflict on anyone. Least of all Gareth and the tentative relationship they’ve started to rebuild.

But Gareth, for whom Christmas is all about new beginnings, won’t let Jack take the easy way out. He makes him face his ghosts instead. Even when said ghosts invade their bedroom.

When Daniel’s parents are found, Jack is determined to settle the matter without involving Daniel at all. But fate decrees otherwise, and it’s Gareth who helps him finally understand that the strongest bonds are those forged together. Once he gets that, Jack can step up and make a decision designed to lay his ghosts to rest—for good.

Available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook from
Dreamspinner Press and all general retailers.

BOOK 3: HOUSE HUNT
Jack Horwood hates owing favors. But when a simple day out to treat Gareth to the best oysters in England leads to a discovery of drugs and counterfeit money—things that neither Jack nor Gareth have the jurisdiction to handle—he has to call in help. Help that forces him to do something he promised himself he’d never do again—walk away from Gareth and the family he’s starting to make for himself.

Three months undercover is a long time. After missing Gareth’s birthday, Jack is determined not to miss their first anniversary. But coming home and being home are two very different things. So when he is asked to assist with a corporate espionage investigation, Jack can’t say no, despite knowing it will impact his already straining relationship. Except, of course, he’s walking into a trap….

Available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook from
Dreamspinner Press and all general retailers.

BOOK 4: SWINGS & ROUNDABOUTS

Jack Horwood doesn’t do things by halves. Once he’s decided to build a home and family with Gareth, Nico, and Daniel he’s all in, whether that means helping with homework, arguing with banks and builders or taking care of Gareth, who is snowed under with work and his freelance job for Aidan.

Stressed, tired and barely home, Gareth doesn’t believe that Jack finds looking after his home-made family as enjoyable as he claims. Doubts creep in and arguments soon follow until Jack organises a weekend break in Northern Sweden just for the two of them to sort out their issues.

What starts as a good idea turns into a murder hunt when they discover a dead body, frozen into the “furniture” of the famous Ice Hotel, and both Jack and his friend Oskar are implicated in the dead woman’s disappearance. Jack can only watch from the sidelines as Gareth steps up to help solve the murder, sure that it will bring all Gareth’s doubts back full force and put him once more on a collision course with Jack and their feelings for each other.

Coming Soon.

ABOUT JACKIE KESWICK

Jackie Keswick was born behind the Iron Curtain with itchy feet, a bent for rocks and a recurring dream of stepping off a bus in the middle of nowhere to go home. She's worked in a hospital and as the only girl with 52 men on an oil rig, spent a winter in Moscow and a summer in Iceland and finally settled in the country of her dreams with her dream team: a husband, a cat, a tandem, a hammer and a laptop.

Jackie writes thrillers, suspense, sci-fi and fantasy - often with love stories built in. She loves unexpected reunions and second chances, and characters who don't follow the rules when those rules are stupid. She blogs about English history and food, has a thing for green eyes, and is a great believer in making up soundtracks for everything, including her characters and the cat.

And she still hasn't found the place where the bus stops.

For questions and comments, not restricted to green eyes, bus stops or recipes for traditional English food, you can find Jackie Keswick in all the usual places:

ONE YEAR PUBLIVERSARY
¸.•*´(¸.•*´(¸.•*´★`*•.¸)`*•.¸)`*•.

Zac's Mulligan, Guarding The Gods book 1 by Author Ann Lister
It's been one whole year since the first book in the spin off series from The Rock Gods was launched.

About Zac's Mulligan

Zac Mulligan is a former Marine now providing personal security for the infamous rock band, Black Ice. Seeing all the guys around him in committed relationships reminds him of his childhood best friend . . . the only person Zac has never managed to get out of his head or his heart.

Ben Holland is an artist. Falling deeply in love with his best friend in his teens, Ben is left alone when Zac leaves him for the military. Ben heads off to college and lives his life “out and proud” as a gay man and creates a brand name for himself with his artwork. Throughout all the years that pass, Ben never forgets his childhood friend, Zac, or the feelings they once shared.

Zac realizes a decade is too long for Ben not to have a presence in his life and finds Ben living on Cape Cod where they spent their summers as kids. Meeting each other as adults stirs up a lot of memories for both of them.

Zac is looking for a mulligan, a “do over,” with his childhood best friend. The question is: Can Ben find a way to put aside his old hurts and fully open his heart to Zac for a second time? Or maybe the past is something better left buried on the beach where it all began.

 A Matter of Perspective

Thanks for hosting me today as part of my blog tour for Comes a Horseman, the 3rd and final book in my WWII Echoes Rising series from DSP Publications.
I have a Rafflecopter running as part of the tour so be sure to enter.
I prefer to read and write flawed characters, rather than protagonists who are always right, and antagonists who are two-dimensional virtual moustache whirlers.  I think they’re more interesting, and I like a bit of emotional angst in my stories.
Good people make mistakes, and especially during war, find themselves in a position where they need to follow a course of action they wouldn’t usually.  In Echoes Rising the team have so far been focused on getting Kristopher and the information he carries to the Allies.  But now, they’re having doubts about whether this is the best course of action, and whether their mission should succeed.  Add in the complication of having feelings for someone else in their team. What sacrifices will they need to make in order to ensure that person’s survival? A person who in usual circumstances wouldn’t kill anyone reacts differently when someone they love is threatened.
Or do they?

#BlogTour #Giveaway! The Hunger Within - Lily Luchesi and What Inspired Her to Write The Hunger Within

Vampirism isn't all sex, blood, and handcuffs. * She's not all whips and orgasms.

What inspired me to write The Hunger Within

The Hunger Within really started with A Bloody Legacy, the 15k word novelette I released this past April with Hot Ink Press.

BDSM has always been interesting to me, not just because of the sexual aspect but the psychological one as well. It takes two entirely different types of people to be doms/dommes and subs, and different reasons for why each role appeals to them. However, I never thought about writing it at all, though I had penned some erotica short stories for anthologies.

In Memory of A.C. Katt: J.P. Bowie Shares a Fond Memory and a Giveaway

Divine Promotions was sad to hear of the passing of Mary Lynn Hansel aka A.C. Katt. As both a friend and a wonderful author, she will be sadly missed. We decided we wanted to do one last tribute to her memory so we are doing this tour to honor her and the stories she wrote.
Don't forget to scroll down and enter the giveaway.

It’s always hard when someone you admire passes. Mary Lynn and I were not close friends, at least not in the conventional way. She was originally known to me as A. C Katt. We were Facebook friends, fellow authors and on the few occasions when we’d meet at a convention, would be found, heads together in lovely long conversations. I also had the honor and joy of helping edit her Werewolves of Manhattan series. Last year at GRL in Kansas I dared ask about one of the characters I had grown fond of.

“When is he getting his mate?”

Mary Lynn laughed and told me with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, “Wait and see.”

In all of Mary Lynn’s writing she drew characters that you cared for, rooted for and wished them happy endings. You might be amazed at the quantity of food they all consumed and the amount of shopping trips they went on. But that was the fluff. The heart of her stories was about love, loyalty and human rights. She didn’t hesitate to berate the Russian and Chechnyan governments for their atrocious anti-LGBT behavior. Behind Mary Lynn’s sweet smile and demeanor was the determined will of a fighter for what she believed was right.

I know that all of Mary Lynn’s many friends and fans join me in expressing our condolences to her devoted husband, Alan.

Sweet lady, rest in peace.

But a rural police force in Virginia has an opening, and the move could be just the change he needs, so Lenard buys a house based on an Internet ad. But when he arrives, he finds that the house looks nothing like the ad… and it’s haunted as well.

Lenard doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but he decides to research his supposed ghost anyway. Soon he learns that fifteen years ago, Jason Miller was murdered in the house, and his entire family died under suspicious circumstances. As he makes friends with his ghostly companion, they join forces to try to solve the old murders. Along the way, they find there are some things that conquer even death.
